Wouldn't It Be Great If You Could Finally Learn The Graphics Skills That Architecture School Could NEVER Teach You... From The Comfort Of Your Own Home?

And you can do this by following a simple

LOGICAL Structure to learning architectural drawing and design…
explained like never before

WITH PERSONALISED FEEDBACK…
IN-DEPTH, COMPLETE EXERCISES
AND
MANY, MANY EXAMPLES OF WHAT EXPERT FREEHAND ARCHITECTURAL DRAWING ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE…
ALL THE WAY FROM THE INITIAL SKETCHES TO THE FINAL PIECE

Without The Hassle Of Going Through Architecture School

…but right in the privacy of your on home…
Hiya, this is Michael Neatu from Freehand Architecture.

Look, I know exactly how you feel because I’ve been there…

I literally was this struggling architecture student with ZERO drawing skills that couldn’t put some ideas on paper to save his life…
I didn’t have the architectural drawing and design abilities…
so wasn’t doing good at architecture school
and this was making it impossible for me to land that Architect dream job I’ve always wanted…
And IT SUCKED.
But it didn’t “really” bother me until one day I’ve heard the story behind Frank Lloyd Wright designing Falling Water.
How he drew it all in one go, on his design board… right in front of all his staff… two hours before he had to hand in the FINAL DESIGN.
I instantly knew I wanted to be like that.
I had to start being the ‘talented architect’ that could draw any of his ideas and present them in a confident and cool way.
For months I got completely shot down by my tutors and colleagues for trying to learn drawing the best way I could at the time…
by tracing over printed images or other people’s renders…
or trying to figure out color composition by my self…
For that time it was LITERALLY the best I could do to understand architectural drawing.
I kept trying my best at sketching, drawing plans, figuring out which type of composition looks best and why…
I was still visually illiterate… with ZERO drawing skills
After about 3 to 4 months I came across a book on the theory behind constructed perspective and all of a sudden it all clicked…
For my next design submission I had three times as many sheets as my other colleagues
Boom, my design was in the first 5% of the year!
One week later, another successful design. This time, my design got me a freelancing gig…
From that moment on I decided to really take it to THE NEXT LEVEL… and then I learned all this theory on different types of perspective and composition, did many many freelancing gigs, even started teaching some of my friends how to draw.
I pushed my drawing abilities harder until I got the results that I wanted:
After teaching drawing to all my friends, I started getting students that I would teach architectural drawing on the weekends…
Designers, architects, architecture students, anyone who wanted to get better at architectural drawing and design…
They would come and learn what architecture school couldn’t teach them: how to bring out their inner creative architectural self and learn to draw like they never thought was possible…
Needless to say, the results for my students were really good:[/text_block]
Some of them landed jobs because of their new drawing skills…
Some became more proficient in what they were already doing (design-wise and with computer graphics)
Some transformed their approach to drawing and architecture 180 degrees… yeah literally starting from a place of complete lack of confidence in themselves and their abilities… to becoming these confident, creative, talented students of architecture…
YOU WILL LOOK AT A PROJECT BRIEF AND INSTANTLY HAVE A PLETHORA OF IDEAS POPPING IN YOUR HEAD OF WHAT TO START WITH AND WHAT TO DRAW NEXT

“BEING A TALENTED ARCHITECT”

That was the question I got all the time: “But How Do I Become A Talented Architect, Michael?”
And that was my catalyst. So I decided to sit down for MONTHS and really break down what it meant to MASTER drawing and design.
As “crazy” or “mad genius” the ideas I would put on paper were… they WORKED for me and all my students
“Is that YOUR work mate? It looks f***ing brilliant!”
Some of my ideas on drawing and design worked from the get go, some took experimenting with more unusual drawing styles, but NONE OF THEM put me in a place I felt stuck in the creative process of a design, on the contrary…
…it always produces better and better architectural ideas and graphics
Why? Because through mastering architectural drawing I figured out a way to amplify my own creative self… and use that to a reach higher and higher levels of architectural creativity.
And It Is The Three Areas Of Drawing Mastery That Make All Your Work Stand Out
But I went a step further, and I decided to pick apart what some might come “the trademark genius” of my drawing style, and the reason why I have such CONSISTENT results every time I start a new drawing or design.
You see, not only did I dissect “The Graphics” of a guy who came across as talented in architecture into a LOGICAL and EASY TO UNDERSTAND Structure, I also broke down the tools necessary to create the idea progressions that benefits your overall architecture creative process.
So to give architects that didn’t know how to express themselves visually the opportunity TO LEARN TO DRAW AND ALSO GROW AND EXPAND THEIR NATURAL CREATIVE SELVES, I created…
AN EASY-TO-FOLLOW LINEAR STRUCTURE OF
“DRAW THIS, CORRECT IT HERE” WITH EVERY
NUANCE OF ARCHITECTURAL GRAPHICS STYLE UNDER THE SUN…

…And Its Possible Speedbumps Along The Way So You Will Inevitably End Up With Top Notch, ‘Wow’ Effect Work
YEAH REALLY, BECAUSE OF MY THOUSANDS OF HOURS EXPERIENCE TEACHING DRAWING I CAN LITERALLY INTUITE YOUR NATURAL STICKING POINTS JUST BY TALKING TO YOU ABOUT DRAWING…
Mastering architectural drawing and design is mostly about doing the specific types drawings which challenge you and get you key, specific insights which add up and literally construct your drawing style step-by-step.
Every single little detail of it all, is encompassed RIGHT HERE

Drawing And Design Mastery Lesson Plan
All lessons are designed to get you the maximum results in the shortest time possible.
The lesson plan is the direct result of over 7 years of practice teaching drawing and over 5000 hours of teaching, practice and working with architectural drawing.
Each lesson will cover a very specific subject around freehand or technical drawing and mastering creativity.
Module One: Fundamentals Of Architectural Drawing

Lesson #1 Introduction To Learning Architectural Drawing

Understand the basic concepts and all the drawing tools you need to start studying architectural drawing

Lesson #2 Fundamental Box Perspectives

Get a thorough understanding of perspective: how to draw different objects correctly in perspective and how perspective points work.

Lesson #3 Axonometrics And Triple Projection

Finally understand technical drawing as it boils down to two-dimensional technical drawing (triple projection) and three-dimensional technical drawing (axonometrics).

Lesson #4 Cube And Prism Building Sketches

Get better skills in the drawing by learning how to sketch a simple box and prism house and then render it in pencil or crayons on A3 format.

Lesson #5 Simple Volumes Projection, Axonometrics And Sketches

Learn how to draw the cylinder, prism, cube, sphere and cone in perspective, triple projection and axonometric.

This will help you visually break down and understand buildings, objects and anything you see around you.

Lesson #6 Conceptual Drawing: Simple Volumes Composition

Use what we have learned in the previous lessons on simple volumes and we will combine everything into a simple abstract architectural composition.

Lesson #7 Constructed Shadows Axonometrics

Learn how to construct a complex isometric model with correct cast shadows, shading and draw it all in 2B pencil on a large A2 format.

Lesson #8 The Classical Orders Of Architecture

Learn the theory and how to draw the three classical orders of classical architecture: doric, ionic, corinthian.
Module Two: Advanced Architectural Drawing

Lesson #9 Inner Game Of Architectural Drawing

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit. Non eaque incidunt, quam voluptatem distinctio, dolor aliquam quasi nihil accusamus officiis, ratione necessitatibus vero officia iure iste similique.

Lesson #10 Barrel Vaults Axonometrics

Develop three dimensional vision and expand your understanding of space by drawing all the 24 variations of the standard barrel vault in isometric representation.

Lesson #11 Real Life Objects Composition

Expand your freehand sketching and composition with drawing an architectural composition with simple objects that you see in day-to-day life.

Lesson #12 Cube On Diagonal

This is your first official descriptive geometry assignment which will upgrade the way your logical brain thinks and problem solves architecture.

Lesson #13 Constructed Perspective

This is the fundamental of all abilities of drawing and must to all architects in the world – constructed perspective has been discovered in the Renaissance times and is used to accurately depict architectural space.

Lesson #14 Spatial Vision Axonometrics

Your mind needs to graps objects in three dimensions and the best way to get that is with several 3D vision axonometrics that will just melt your brain (and get you smarter).

Lesson #15 Conceptual Drawing: Self-Portrait Composition

This is where you get your own creative ideas out there, as through the self-portrait composition you will create a drawing which tells everything about your own vision of the world and architecture

Lesson #16 Four Types Of Axonometric

This lesson will put your technical drawing abilities to the test as you will have to imagine a complex architectural volume represented in four different types of axonometric.
Module Three: Drawing And Design Mastery

Lesson #17 Barrel Vault Pavilion

We will use what we have have learned in the barrel vaults assignment to design a small pavilion and draw it in plan, section, axonometric and constructed perspective.

Lesson #18 Descriptive Geometry Axonometrics

We will take our understanding of descriptive geometry and technical drawing further by drawing two simple assignments that use both technical skills and the simple volumes graphics from early on the course.

Lesson #19 Landscape Architecture:Trees And Shrubs

Green entourage is the key for creating interesting drawings, so we will discuss trees and shrubs entourage examples for anything: perspectives, plans, facades and so on.

Lesson #20 People Sketches Entourage

Not knowing how to draw the human figure is a huge sticking point for most architects. You will get past this sticking point really fast as we discuss how to draw people as architectural entourage and as a graphics exercise in detail.

Lesson #21 Chair Design Study

Study chair designs that will test your knowledge on product design and how to understand the logic and draw objects with different materials.

Lesson #22 Architecture History – Classical Architecture Monuments

Learn to draw thre famous buildings from classical architecture: The Gate of Ishtar, Greek Parthenon and Roman Pantheon… all three in eye-level and aerial perspective!

Lesson #23 Interior Design: Kitchen And Dining Area

Imagine the layout of a simple kitchen with adjacent dining area and draw everything in isometric and constructed one point perspective. (lots of detailing included)

Lesson #24 Urban Square And Tower

Design a simple urban square with a collonade and tower design as well as the adjacent urban tissue then draw it in isometric, frontal view and eye-level perspective.

And We Will Tackle Essential, Paradigm-Shifting Lessons From My Most Popular Courses To Date

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do I need to join the lessons?
Just a valid internet connection and the basic tools for architectural drawing.
What are the tools for architectural drawing?
2B pencil, A4 paper, triangles, ruler, T-bar, coloured crayons, markers, sharpie and eraser.
Is learning drawing hard?
Not the way I teach it… I am extra careful so you will get any lesson learned 100%, then to keep building up on your new skills so you will step-by-step get the abilities you’ve always wanted for drawing and design.
But the secret is that most people out there haven’t got a clue
How much time does it take to get good at drawing?
In order to get a basic skill set going in both technical and freehand drawing, you need at least the first module out of the way (three months), then it comes to around twelve to sixteen months (around 1000 hours of practice) to develop your drawing and design abilities to their fullest.
Are online lesson a good option in comparison to traditional lessons?
Oh yes, online lesson are actually a lot better than just sitting in a classroom for a couple of hours. Communication in online lessons is more specific, the feedback you receive will also be very specific, you will have various sources of content to learn from and a high-quality, supportive and friendly group of colleagues- overall a superior learning experience compared to any traditional classroom lessons.
Which is more important: freehand drawing or technical drawing?
Both are essential to being able to draw and design well as they tackle both right and left sides of your brain… this adds up to creativity as well as logical, technical thinking.
I am afraid to start learning drawing, what should I do?
Go for the ‘Noobie-to-Intermediate” exercises… we will do those first and you will slowly start seeing that you can do it.
My head hurts when I draw. Is there something wrong with me?
No, that’s actually the process of learning happening real time (the neurogenesis process happening) It’s a sign you’re doing good. Keep it up!
Other people say that drawing is out dated, that I can just outsource to computer design software.
Well, like a famous architect put it: “98% of everything built out there is sh*t” Don’t listen to people that say that drawing is dead – their whole approach to architecture is limited and their work mediocre at its best.
What’s the hardest thing about drawing?
I think this has a triple answer: for freehand drawing, the hardest thing definitely implies you having a complete mastery of proportions and being able to come up with ideas on the fly, for technical is getting the mental discipline to be able to tackle any technical subject, as well as the infamous descriptive geometry. Also having the mental fortitude to carry on drawing even when you meet internal/external, real/imaginary resistance…
Why doesn’t anybody teach this in architecture school?
Like mr Gehry pointed out… 98% of architects out there are visually illiterate – so they don’t have a clue on drawing. 98% of what remains are also quite bad at teaching it… so by adding up the numbers you can se how you’ve got a minimal change to learn this, regardless of where you’re studying or have studied architecture.[/text_block]

Evghenii P, Architecture Student

Hey Michael, just wanted to let you know my portfolio was accepted and I’m officially in my first year of architecture school!

People usually take drawing classes here for two years, but I managed to make it happen within three months of following your drawing lessons and scored a 75% which lands me in the top of my year!
Thank you Michael, you are a really good tutor!

Nigel M, Assistant Architect

Man I was struggling for three years, trying to figure this stuff out… and you explained everything in a couple of hours time!

Thanks again Michael, I can definitely say now I’m confident enough to mix hand-rendered graphics with all my presentations!

Simone L, Architecture Student

My examiners were shocked when they found out I started drawing lessons just a bit over two months ago.

Nonetheless, got accepted at a really good architecture school.

REALLY looking forward to starting uni. THANK YOU for all your help!

Cezara G, Assistant Architect

From experience, an architecture portfolio without this kind of hand drawings has no chance of making a positive first impression because the employers can easily notice the lack of skill on behalf of the author.

I highly recommend your trainings to everyone who wants to better their portfolio and land their dream job in architecture. I did and it’s great!

Felix M, Part II RIBA Architect

Hi Michael! Just wanted to say thanks so much for your help improving my drawing skills. You really reignited my passion for drawing and I feel like I now have comprehensive understanding of the foundations I needed to take my hand drawings to the next level.
Learning proper composition has really made a difference. Thanks again for being so patient and not giving up on me!

Jamal A, Assistant Architect

Yo Michael! These drawing lessons of yours are in a league of their own! Sick, man! Thanks for the lessons on perspective and for drawing all those crazy modernists houses – that’s what got me through undergrad.

Let’s Say You Do No Want To Upgrade Your Drawing Skills… What Happens Then?

If you stick to what you already know then that is fine, you can just crawl back to your comfort zone and just get used to that. I do not want to be mean, but this is exactly what will happen (seen it over and over again with all my students)

1. You will always make boring designs that will never stand out.
As Frank Gehry said, 98% everything designed out there is sh*t, so no worries – it’s not like anybody will ever judge you for not doing your best… you will stick in the 98% majority and you will be fine (sometimes choosing to play it safe is the best)

2. You will never know how it is to create the best drawing and design work possible.
Let me tell you a secret – the people that are the best developed a solid skill set of drawing that builds their inner world and then they just work with that to get their vision out there.

3. You will still be visually illiterate.
Visually illiterate architects and designers do not understand what you are seeing in front of you, you will always be afraid to put your real ideas out there and just stick to the limitations of the shapes software can generate. Nothing good will come out of this – not having your own philosophy on drawing will mess you up.

4. Your creativity will slowly grind down and degenerate.
Being creatively biased will keep you leaning towards either being too technical and rigid in your thinking or being too conceptual, vague and unrealistic in your approach.
The first will get you creating ‘structures’, not masterpieces of architecture and you will over analyse everything you draw (because of your lack of right-brained thinking).
Being too right-brained will always keep you frustrated as you will feel like other people are always copying ideas that you had first. Like you thought of it first, but others got the idea six months later and they got all the merit.
The reality here is that you probably lack the mental discipline to really organise your thoughts and test them out in a problem-solving, rational  way.
Without knowing technical drawing, you will never get that of your brain up to standard.

5. Life without knowing how to draw is really boring.
Listen, drawing has a way of constantly refreshing your creativity so that you always bring new things to the table. Ignoring that and missing out on those experiences will only frustrate you, as you will just spin your wheels and keep reusing the same ideas over and over and over again.

Trust me, when you notice this pattern and you notice that you cannot get out of it, then designing gets really, really demotivating and boring.
